What camcorders can I use?

Any camcorder with AV IN (analogue in) - Check your camcorder manual/specification to ensure compatibility

My camcorder has DV IN, will this work?

You must have AV IN (analogue in)
What is connection to my camcorder?
Normally use the AV IN.  Most camcorders are supplied with a mini jack cable to connect camcorder to TV.  This cable will connect to the bullet camera.
My camcorder is digital, will it work?
Digital or analogue camcorders will work, if they have AV IN
My camcorder has DV IN, will this work?
It must have AV IN (this can be an additional connection, and firewire, etc.)
How do I know if I have AV IN?
Connect to a TV and record FROM a TV to your camcorder, if you can do this it will work.
Can I use SVHS
Yes, see the SVHS connector
What is lens fitted to bullet camera?
4.3mm as standard, other lenses available if required.
Why 4.3mm lens?
From customer feedback, this is the choice lens
What is the angle of view of 4.3mm?
78 degrees
Is the 21CW / 21CWSHR / 21CWSHRX waterproof?
Yes, fully waterproof  (the mic is not)
Cable attached to bullet camera?
Now 2 metre (6') lightweight cable, BNC/RCA and 2.1mm DC connections
Why supply a 2 metre (6') cable attached to bullet camera?
This lightweight cable allows direct connection to the camcorder. (Normally the camcorder is supplied with a small connecting cable). This also allows a waterproof  2 metre (6') connection to the bullet camera.
Is the 21CW / 21CWSHR / 21CWSHRX available in PAL and NTSC format?
Yes, available in both formats for use Worldwide
What is supplied with battery pack?

1. Battery holder 12V holds 8 x AA batteries

2. BNC to phono converter

3. 2.1mm DC cable to connect to battery holder

4. Cable with phono/RCA connectors

Can I use any battery?

12V is required.  However the camera has a tolerance of 8-15V. 

Any type of battery Alkaline, Nicad or NiMh or car/motorcycle battery.

A small 9V PP3 type battery can also be used (must be Ni-Cad or NiMh -rechargeable) with the connector provided, but will only last just over one hour.

How long do batteries last?

8 x AA batteries -`any battery type, should last about 10 hrs

A small 9V PP3 (must be Ni-Cad or NiMh -rechargeable) will last one hour

C or D batteries may also be used providing much longer than 10 hours use

What is specification of cameras?

All the cameras are very High Quality.  Different CCD provided. Our standard 21CW 'the original waterproof helmet cam' (an excellent quality and value camera) with standard 380TVL. Also High Res 480TVL available.

Do you supply a mount for the cameras?
A camera 'fixed' mount is supplied with all cameras.  Our velcro camera mount is available for extra 3.50 (supplied with pack).  This a heavy duty industrial velcro mount with one sticky side to fix to helmet, car, etc. The velcro pad can be left fixed, and allows the camera to be easily positioned or removed.
If I buy the 'package, including bullet camera, do I require anything else?
Just recording device such as camcorder (with AV in) is the simple method
What is the warranty?

The cameras do not normally give problems - Goods are guaranteed for one year.

Faulty goods will be replaced immediately - we aim to please!

Helmet Camera Connections

Connecting the bullet camera to a camcorder is simple.  Just ensure your camcorder has AV IN.

The bullet camera (and mic) requires 12V power.

1. Sony provide the cable to connect to the camcorder

2. BNC Phono (supplied by RF Concepts) connects to bullet camera.

Yellow to Video, and white/red for optional mic(s)

3. The DC plug connects to 12V power supply.  Optional battery pack AA will work for about 10 hours

4. The optional mic(s) connects to the cable on the camcorder

4. Set camera to playback and you have PICTURE and SOUND!!

5. Now record!

Connecting the bullet camera now takes over the function of the camcorders own lens.

Your camcorder can now be protected!
